Gill vs concord battery

I have use a Gill G35 in my 63 V35 for the last 18 months.  Recently I have been having starting problems and I found that the Gill G35 would not hold a sufficient charge.  Granted I don't fly enough (who does) but I keep the plane hangared (out of the sun) and I keep it tethered up to a BatteryMinder charger.

I'm looking at replacing the battery but I want to know if anyone has tried (with success) any other battery.

I put the Concorde RG-35AXC in my N35 almost 4 years ago.
I do fly weekly, no minder/charger, still strong.

+1 on Paul's comments.  I've been using the RG-35AXC since 2002.  Never a failure of any kind.

I replace it every three (3) years, just because I want to, and I'm a cautious guy when it comes to flying IFR.

I began using the Concord RG batteries about 6 years ago.

Like, Ron, I used to change batteries every 3 years.

After I purchased my most recent Concord RG battery, I removed the "old"  RG and then discharged it. 

When I say discharged, I mean that I connected a bulb to the battery and let it run down.   

A few days later, when I returned to the hanger, I connected the discharged battery to my charger and recharged the RG battery.

I then check the voltage every few months.  After one year of no use, other than voltage checking, I find there is no loss of voltage. 

Granted, I should reinstall it in the airplane and see what happens.  This will happen in September when I do the annual.

I am saying that I hope to be able to use the two RG batteries over and over.
