I see a lot of discussion about the older Bo's but nothing about the newer ones with the two yokes entering the panel separately. Does anyone know if the standard mount Garmin sells for the 496 will fit on the big rod going into the panel??? Mine came with just the XM antennae and a power cord (used) so I need to buy a mount. I know the Lowrance 2000c standard mount I use in my Warrior will not work with the Bonanza, jaw won't open wide enough.

Contact Angerole Engineers www.angerole.com they make several mounts for the 496

I had a G396 mounted in my 1998 A36 for several years and it worked out just great with the Garmin mount - as if it was custome designed.

I just upgraded to an Aera and I have a brand new spare G396/496 mount. Actually, a complete install kit for a second plane. Contact me off-line if interested. jim@herdware.net

Contact Michel Dubil at www.gforcemount.com and get yourself a G-Force mount for your 496. I have one that I have had for several years with my 496. It suctions to the windshield and I have my 496 sitting right on top of my glareshield so I never have to look down to see my course, weather, etc. It adjusts to any position and hangs on tight to the WS. I actually have another one that my uses to affix here 196 to the WS on the passenger side when we are on X-county flights. Great product. Spruce may also have them by now.
