Cabin overhead speaker

Any suggestions regarding replacement of my cabin speaker.

Currently it is in the middle of the ceiling, above my head. I would love to put a GPS antennae there, but cannot because of the speaker magnet.

Therefore some questions:

- Where else has anyone put their cabin speaker.

- Can the speaker be changed to something without a magnet? I really doubt if there is much of a speaker without a magnet.

- Under the seat?

- ??

I am not aware of a restriction on a GPS antenna requiring it be mounted any distance from the cabin speaker magnet, that is where mine is located. I presume you have a mechanical interference issue.

If you are considering installing an Aspen PFD, the RSM which contains a GPS and antenna as well as a magnetometer and looks like a GPS antenna. It can't be installed close to the speaker as it would throw off the magnetometer.
