G58 Fuel line chafing gear retract rod
« on: August 20, 2013, 05:18:58 pm »
The other day we were complying with a Beech Service Bulletin on a G58 and one of our most Excellent Technicians noticed that the retract rod was wearing away on a fuel line in the wheel well.

We have inspected this area before and found no issues. It appears that an adel clamp holding a check valve and some other lines moved enough to allow the wear.

Part total time was 1010.2 hours.

The aircraft was grounded until a new line was installed. 3/4 inch clearence was achieved between retract rod and new line. Several retraction test confirmed sufficient clearence.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks, Chris.  We'll get the word out.
